LE CLASH

During Pouzza Fest 9 in Montreal, I had the chance to chat with Jodi, Molly, Sharon and Ginger from the Ramoms.

Check out their new EP ‘’Problem Child’’ with the single ‘’Gritty Is A Punk’’ about the Philadelphia Flyers' mascot… and a diss track on Sydney Crosby.  Probably two more EP upcoming this year!!!

They talked about how the idea for an all mom Ramones cover/reprise band was born, censoring lyrics for the kids, how the catchy side of The Ramones' style is perfect for the kids to mimic and sing-along, the creative process, Molly joining the band, starting for fun and now having a record deal and playing on the road, having supporting partners in bands too and playing shows alternatively with kids at home (ex.: Duffy’s Cut on Oi! The Boat Records), Mike Gallo (Agnostic Front) plays bass on ''Boogie Not Snot'' at Noisy Little Critters Studio, temporarily stopping music for kids and college, music in their families, playing shows at midnight at a strip club in Montreal (Café Cleopatra) vs kids shows, the chance of connecting with the Dad Brains threw punknews.org, CJ Ramones and Legs McNeil acknowledging the Ramoms, the job of their Records label on managing the rights of The Ramones songs, times are changing but there’s still a lot to change in the music scene towards women (go listen to Sharon on the panel https://projects.nj.com/investigations/for-a-girl/index.html?fbclid=IwAR3GoxUuqfomBtxIchaEEEZkhdW0JfVDeuC3qTk50PKbs7bWfMjxKROTB84#opening), loving the songs and working hard to get where they are, playing The Ramones is a double edge sword, some sports talk to end this episode!

Go check their other projects too (The Droogettes, The Up! Up! Ups!, Death Doula, Lyons, Elixxxir, Evol Soul Co.)
