44- What if some healthy discomfort was acceptable?
A friend of mine sent me an article published in Le Devoir which inspired me to further reflect on this question: \'What if it was acceptable, and even desirable for our development, to tolerate a little suffering and discomfort?’

This question brought about another point of reflection, as described in the book, Dopamine Nation by Anne Lembke, MD (Penguin Edition), in which the author talks about the prevalence of addiction in today\'s society and its direct relationship to our need for constant, immediate gratification. The basic premise puts forth that instead of enduring a little suffering, we are driven by a need to seek out validation and comfort, in any form, to avoid discomfort at all costs.
In this episode, I invite you to get comfortable with your discomfort and live with it, until you are ready for it to disappear. My goal is to help you unearth the tools— tools that you already possess— that will help you learn to tolerate healthy discomfort and find the answers to your well being on your own.
