I had the huge honor to chat with a great canadian boxer and one of my idols:  Mary Spencer, 3 times world champion as an amateur and first canadian indigenous athlete to compete as an olympian in London, in 2012. She turned pro in 2021 at 36 years old and will try to make her way up to the top in the welterweight category.  She is already one of the biggest threats at 147, in my opinion and she still has a lot of quality boxing to offer.
We discussed together about her accomplishments as an amateur, about her olympic experience in 2012 and the years previous to the Games, about her rivalry and friendship with Ariane Fortin, about her goals as a pro, and her community involvement as a mentor for young indigenous kids across Canada.
